Poetry Slam is an audience judged poetry competition where the best poet of the evening wins up to $100! It takes place EVERY Wednesday at Rhythm & Brews Coffeehouse; 541 Grand @ Washington. $5 cover |

a poetry slam is a competition where a poet performs a poem of their own creation in three minutes or less. Props and costumes are not allowed. Five random audience judges score the poem by holding up score cards ranging from 0 being the worst poem and 10 being the best. |

sent nicole` mondaine to the indy |
|
world poetry slam, and u. city high |
|
sent a team to the youth nationals. |

this year’s st. louis poetry slam team |
|
will be selected on june 1st at the |
|
